Leadership Development As A Culture, Not An Option
Posted on March 1, 2016 at 11:48 AM |
It is amazing to me that so many small businesses still look at Leadership Development from a perspective as "optional" versus a necessity. No wonder 70% of small businesses fail within 7 years of opening. While other factors such as finances, marketing, etc, play a part, I believe the fact that there is no CULTURE of leadership development in the company plays a major role. Plus, keep this in mind: By 2020, research shows that 50% of the workforce will be Millennials. Guess what? They do not hope for development to be a part of their relationship with the company they work for....they EXPECT it as a given. If not, they will move on. This article link proposes some very good considerations regarding leadership development and company culture. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/246682 |

Seems you are doing everything in a very systematic way. It is really very good actually. Every word of this blog is so good that I have read this blog of yours twice at one time.So it was a well chosen sentence, and I like it very much.

I believe that leadership is supposed to be the nature of a company. Whenever one stumbles, the others will help in order to maintain the company. It's true that leadership must be a culture of the company, building good relationship with the employees, treating them as a friend. Attitude matters also because it is a sign that the employees wants to learn. I'm glad you shared the importance of leadership, that it is not just an option, but a must have for the company.

Leadership Development programs should be prioritized not only in the academe but also within workplace. Companies must have some mandated seminars that will help their employees become more confident in fulfilling their roles in the company. This will also help each of them become stronger and wiser in the decisions that they make. And just like what you have said in the title, leadership development should be considered as a culture and not an option because we all know how beneficial this will become if it will be prioritized.

I believe that leadership development is a key in all business. It has been said that without leadership, business may put the health of the business in jeopardy. Leadership comes along with strong leaders that can help an organization to maximize productivity and achieve business goals. Strong leaders drive employee productivity by building confidence in employees and creating a positive environment that is conducive to productivity. Also, it is an effective way to motivate the employees to be the best version of themselves. The success of the business comes along with all the people inside that operates the business.
